php-services-json software package provides PHP implementaion of json_encode/decode, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install php-services-json
php-services-json is installed in your system.
Make ensure the php-services-json package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep php-services-json *
You will get with php-services-json package name, version, architecture and description in a table
